Holy Family Catholic School at the junction of London Road & Langley High Street (B4700), was given permission to expand its age range, with 15 places for 2-year-olds from September this year.
The Department of Education approved the move in April, but the school’s youngest intake do not yet have a space of their own.
The existing car park has 29 spaces, and up to five may be lost if permission is granted for the nursery build proposal.

The plans describe the proposal as the ‘addition of a new external modular building to provide EYFS [Early Years Foundation Stage] unit teaching space’.
The space would be 70sqm.
In letters, sent to the school before the planning application was made, the council stated: “The nursery would be open the same time as the main school (9am-3pm) but that the school/nursery offers ‘wraparound’ care with childcare offered from 7.45am-9am and 3pm-5.45pm.”
Further, it noted: “There are no concerns in design terms, although advice has been given with regard to the LPA’s preferred location of the building.
“Similarly, there are no concerns with regard to potential impacts on neighbours.”
It’s key concern was about loss to parking spaces but said ‘provided that sufficient information is submitted with a formal application, Officers consider it likely that planning permission would be granted’.
