Cheeky Charlies, swimming pool slides and disco halls which have attracted millions of visitors to Maidenhead since 1974 lie abandoned and empty after the decision by Countryside Properties to shut the facility for good in 2020.

The pair were able to get through the doors into the main pool and go on to focus their camera on different areas of the dark and gloomy centre before exploring its inner workings and pumps – and climbing the stairs to the top of the flumes and pool slides.

The disused changing rooms, toilets and sports halls all feature later on – and were descibed as ‘really smelly’.
