Absolutely Fitness is inviting the local community to celebrate National Fitness Day by enjoying free access to its gyms in Slough and Langley, in return for a donation to Berkshire charity Absolutely Together.
National Fitness Day, which takes place on Wednesday 21st September, highlights the wide range of activities that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, and the benefits that being active can have on physical and mental wellbeing.
Between Tuesday 20th and Friday 23rd September, Absolutely Fitness is giving free access to all parts of the gyms. These include a ladies-only area, functional training zones, in excess of 150 pieces of state-of-the-art equipment, and a choice of fitness classes such as Zumba, Yoga, spinning and HIIT.
Throughout the week, visitors at both gyms will also be able to take part in games and challenges to win prizes and free memberships.
All the money raised will be donated to Absolutely Together, which works with families who have children and young adults with additional needs. It provides free access to leisure activities they can take part in as a family – something that is not always possible due to financial or physical restrictions.
Sandra Grochowska, Centre Manager at Absolutely Fitness in Slough, commented:
“Fitness means different things to different people. Some may enjoy lifting weights, whereas others find working out with a group in a class more beneficial. Therefore, we are giving free access, in return for a small donation to Absolutely Together, to every part of the gyms so visitors can discover what they enjoy.
“Our friendly teams will be around all week to help people discover a new fitness activity and learn how to use the equipment.”
As part of National Fitness Day, everyone who becomes an Absolutely Fitness member in September will only pay £9.99 for the first three months.
Absolutely Fitness’s gyms are located on Slough Trading Estate and Langley Road.
