MORE than 80 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Berkshire in the past 24 hours.
Public Health England has recorded 84 new lab-confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, in areas including Reading, Bracknell, Wokingham, West Berkshire, Slough and Windsor and Maidenhead.
These figures are correct as of Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 4pm. It brings the total number of cases in Berkshire to 57,669.
The local breakdown for the past 24 hours as follows:
- Reading – 26 cases, 11,171 total
- Bracknell Forest – 11 cases, 7,165 total
- Wokingham – 20 cases, 8,415 total
- West Berkshire – 5 cases, 6,562 total
- Slough – 18 cases, 15,765 total
- Windsor and Maidenhead – 4 cases, 8,591 total
There have now been 4,480,945 people across the UK who have tested positive for the virus – a daily increase of 3,398.
The latest seven-day rate per 100,000 people locally are as follows:
- Reading – 48.2
- Bracknell Forest – 10.6
- Wokingham – 34.5
- West Berkshire – 24
- Slough – 44.8
- Windsor and Maidenhead – 13.9

More than half of people in their 30s in England have received a coronavirus vaccination in a period of little over two weeks, new figures reveal.
NHS England said that, since it began opening up the vaccine rollout to this age group on May 13, some 53% of those aged 30 to 39 have been given at least one dose.
People aged 30 to 31 were the most recent group to be invited for their jab – from Wednesday – with more than five million appointments made through the national booking service within 72 hours.
